Hello, I’m the very proud manager and owner of The Little Learners Nursery. Childcare is something I truly feel I was meant to do. For many years, friends and family would tell me that I had a natural way with children and that I should work in childcare. In around 2013, once my youngest child, my son, had started school, I finally took that step and began my first role in the industry at The Caterpillar Club.
While I was working there, one of my daughters, Jodie, became pregnant with my first grandchild. When Eddie was born in 2019, everything changed for me. I felt such a strong bond and knew in my heart that I wanted to be the person helping to care for him and support him as he grew. That same year was also a very difficult one, as I sadly lost my dad. He had always believed in me and was so encouraging about my dream of opening my own nursery, and his support has stayed with me every step of the way.
In September 2019, just six months before COVID, The Little Learners Nursery opened its doors. It began with just Jodie and me, and three children — one of whom was Eddie. It was a small beginning, but it was full of love, hope, and determination. Looking back now, I feel incredibly emotional and proud of how far we have come.
The Little Learners Nursery means the world to me. It was built from family, love, encouragement, and a genuine passion for giving children the very best start in life. Every child who comes through our doors becomes part of our nursery family, and I feel so grateful to the parents who trust us with their little ones. Watching the nursery grow from those first three children into the special place it is today has been one of the proudest achievements of my life.
Outside of nursery life, my family continues to be at the heart of everything I do. My spare time is usually taken up with my grandchildren — I have six, with one more on the way, and Brooke is currently the only girl. They bring so much joy to my life and are a huge part of why children, family, and early years care mean so much to me.
I’m Jodie, I am the deputy manager. I am level 2 qualified and will be working towards my level 3. I have been in childcare for 10 years & I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else! Outside of working at The Little Learners Nursery I run around after my 4 children. Sometimes if I’m luckily I get 5 minutes to myself. I absolutely love working with children, watching them grow in confidence & learn new things everyday!

I am passionate about supporting children’s learning and development every day, and find great joy in watching them progress, gain new skills, and build meaningful friendships with their peers.
